Education has previously adopted the provisions of Section
467 of the Real Property
Tax Law, providing for a partial exemption from taxation on
residential property
owned by qualified persons at least 65 years of age; and
WHEREAS, Section 467 of
the Real Property Tax Law has been amended by Chapter
187 of the 2006 Laws of
the State of

WHEREAS, the Board of
Education has held a public meeting for the purpose of considering
a proposed amendment
to its prior resolution granting a partial tax exemption for qualified
senior citizen
property owners, which would increase the maximum income limits in accordance with the aforementioned statutory amendments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Board of Education does hereby adopt
and establish that the
maximum income limit for the partial real property tax exemptions
for qualified persons at
least 65 years of age to be twenty-seven thousand dollars beginning
July first, two thousand
seven, twenty-eight thousand dollars beginning July first, two thousand
eight and twenty-nine
thousand dollars beginning July first, two thousand nine, in accordance with
the amendments to
Section 467 of the Real Property Tax Law.
